Re: Revised Morgan +4
Try it! We had one for a day when we were staying in Malvern a few years ago. Totally impractical but a real hoot

Re: People Power - but who(m)?
I dislike wording like "trustee" and "volunteer". Whilst they may give their time for free, 2 of them are/were in paid positions. And why does the article only feature 5 trustees? According to the Charity Commission there are 10 (though the other 5 were only appointed in Septembe...

Re: Manual EV's?!
The whole USP of an electric motor, to my understanding, is that it produces constant torque regardless of rpm Not quite. An electric motor produces maximum torque at zero rpm - hence the popularity of diesel electric locomotives. Depending on the motor design, torque will remain more or less const...

Re: 20mph alternatives
FWIW I also wrote to my MP some months ago, suggesting it might be time to review the underlying legislation that permits local authorities to set arbitrary speed limits. Response was not particularly encouraging then a few weeks later, PM was being criticised in The Guardian for rumours of support...

Re: 20mph alternatives
And no ignoring your friend/neighbour because they can't be that bad, can they? I'd put good money on it mostly being the locals whinging about the problem who are the main contributors to it. Indeed. You don't come through our village to get somewhere else. All traffic is either residents o...

Re: 20mph alternatives
notice one or two villages seem to have struck a compromise, whereby only the residential side roads have 20 limits. I could live with that approach, in our own village. In fact, I’m thinking of suggesting it, to placate the campaigners. Thing is, when driving most of these side roads (single file,...

Re: 20mph alternatives
We had a blanket 20 limit installed in my village a few years ago. 20 is more than fast enough on all the side roads but on the main road through (which is also a bus route) I'd estimate less than half stick to 20 (including the buses), and probably 15-20% don't keep below 30. Local coucillors man a...

Re: Unsigned speed limits
There’s sometimes painted road markings between the invisible signs where the limit reduces, but they are easy to miss. What's the legality/enforcement of these? I thought they were to back up the roundels, but in themselves have no legal meaning? (I've seen instances where they conflict with round...

Re: Driving to the conditions?
I suspect that this driver falls into the "looks ahead, sees nothing to the sides" category. Even in perfect conditions, she probably wouldn't have noticed anyone on the footpath.
