Re: Glimmer of hope?
Actually, my question was prompted by seeing a newspaper headline claiming that the word 'Easter' was being omitted from Easter Egg packaging, in order to avoid upsetting certain religions! It's probably best if I refrain from saying what I think about that. Mischievous at best. The words &q...

Re: Diesel now bad?
I've always suspected this whole "certain fuel is better for your health" fiasco to be complete hogwash. I suspect the main reason they keep changing their minds is to keep up car sales, as people who follow the government's advice will chop and change their car every 2 - 3 years dependin...

Re: if you retook your driving test...
"50% (six of the 12 who took part) would pass if they took it again today." "Of the 12 volunteers, seven had undergone advanced driver training with the IAM. Of those, six passed the mini test. And of the five who had had no advanced tuition, just one passed." The first sentence ...

Re: Canada - Left foot braking is a no no
Most people are right-footed and so can exert more strength with their right foot if they need to brake firmly in an emergency. I don't know if that's the reason - it's the only thing I can think of!

Re: Fog
There was one point where the fog was so dense even the dipped beam was reflecting off the fog, and that was the point I made a very interesting discovery: you can turn your fog lights on without needing the dipped beam on (i.e, you can have fogs+sidelights, no dipped lights). That was a useful dis...
